Hats off to the city of Ottawa and all the volunteers who helped make this year, one the biggest prides yet! Every year just seems to get better and bigger. Capital Pride 2014 also marked Bobo Academy's very FIRST community fair and we will most definitely be doing it again next year. If you're curious about what events went on this year or if you missed out, check them out here and be ready for 2015!
Our day kicked off way too early after a night at The Queer Mafia's OHMYJAM event which by the way, is always a good time. We arrived at City Hall for 11am with all of our inventory and got everything setup at our booth before the the flow of the parade ended up at City Hall. The two of us had the opportunity to meet and hangout with so many familiar faces, thanks to social media! A couple of our close friends, coworkers, Beaus, The Queer Mafia and the Darlings all stopped by throughout the day.
Between the impromptu water fights, beers, selling apparel and meeting new people, the day flew by. Before we knew it, we were packing up our tent and any remaining inventory. Niki and I were both ready for bed at 10pm that night, it was by far the most exhausting but rewarding day for us...so far! Thanks again to everyone that dropped by to either buy apparel, chat, take selfies with us or a simple high five in support!
Here's a few GoPro snapshots from our first community fair:
